As previously indicated, the project will have two types of outcomes. The first one, improving human potential in such a sensitive area as is proper use of fertilizer in order to obtain yields and to preserve the environment. This activity will produce two sub-results.
The first one is identified in number of advisors/producers that will receive detailed training in HEI specialized in providing training in use of fertilizer in order to obtain best possible in quality and most of all safe food. The maintenance and further improvement of acquired knowledge will be maintained through the National program for support of agriculture and IPARD funds.
The second sub-result, is on-line web-based calculator for determination of fertilizer quantities that need to be applied upon performed soil analysis and obtained laboratory results. As in the case of the previous sub-result this result will me maintained through the National program for support of agriculture since there are positions in the Program budget for application of new techniques or technologies.
The next result is the web-based data base for diseases/pests and pesticides. This will be regularly maintained by the Department of Plant and Environment Protection of the Faculty of Agriculture at Goce Delchev University. Students of the Faculty of Agriculture who are having their major in Plant protection will be engaged in the maintenance and further upgrade of the data base that will be developed. This effort will be recognized as a seminar work or volunteer activity which will be recognized as a part of their practical work. Expansion of the data base will be performed through engagement of students who have a major in field crops. They will be invited to participate by providing high-quality photos of diseases and pests which will not be covered with the initial version
